So this is a team event, or at least it should be!

I suspect a reasonable number of rickshaws are planning on taking part.

We will almost certainly be calling ourselves "Mad Dogs and Englishmen", which was our team name for The Mongol Rally. Currently I think I will be travelling with Henry Chance, Stephen Longe who took part in the Mongol Rally with me last year and Raj Madha. I am keen that Mad Dogs and Englishmen will be a larger team this year so it would be great if you wanted to join us.

Both Henry and Stephen have had the misfortune of travelling with me before. Since they both have many wonderful traits it makes one wonder why they are mad enough to want to journey with me again. Suffice it to say with Henry's humour and Stephen's immense fortitude I could not wish for better team mates. Raj is one of my oldest friends and I suspect after this journey he may never talk to me again! He is currently based in Dubai, where I am assured he has been learning Urdu from his doorman. We are now in the strong position of knowing that 'he' in Urdu is the same word for 'is' in English. I am reliably informed that he will have at least another 4 words of the language before we meet up with him in India. So at least our linguistic skills are well documented. He also assures me that in Dubai he has learnt the measure of the style and panache with which Indians drive so he will have lots of tips for us all on how to outwit the locals driving styles.

Anyway it would be great to get some more people to travel with us. If you are interested in an ideal world you will be amusing and relaxed. I don't really care about anything else. Although if you can design a website, speak Hindi and Urdu and know what you are doing around a vehicle and are a black belt in several marshal arts then so much the better!
